Michelle paver ghost stories5/26/2023 ![]() ![]() Paver has a way with words and willingness to share her experiences that will captivate audiences of all ages – if they are brave enough. ![]() Paver, an Oxford graduate who ditched a law career to become a writer, is best known as the author of fantasy children’s series Chronicles of Ancient Darkness, set in pre-agricultural Stone Age Europe, and the more recent Gods and Warriors series, set in the Bronze Age.īut at Faclan she’ll be sticking to her new passion, the ghostly genre, basing her talk around her two stories Dark Matter (2010), described by Times writer Helen Rumbelow as “a metaphysical meditation on what lies beneath our little lives” and Thin Air (2016), “a heart-freezing masterpiece” set in the high Himalayas. The novelist and children’s writer and, now, scriber of ghost stories, will take the Festival’s Ultima Thule theme to the extreme as she heads the final night with a talk about her growing love affair with the all things ghostly. ![]() Faclan audiences are in for a spine-chilling time on Saturday night (October 28 th) when award-winning author Michelle Paver takes to the stage. ![]()
